Hirtshals

Our Hirtshals department is in a particularly favourable location by the waterfront of Denmark’s largest ferry port with routes to Norway, the Faroe Islands and Iceland, one of the largest fishing ports, the E39 motorway, and the rail goods terminal (from 2017) providing onward access to and from Europe.

Centre for seafood
The Hirtshals department is Claus Sørensen’s flagship within the packing of fish products, with extensive expertise in the handling and processing of fish and seafood. The packing plant is certified according to BRC (British Retail Consortium), which sets the standard for the handling of food in a number of countries. Robot technology and constant focus on the development of production processes ensures customers receive high-quality retail-packed products at competitive prices. Tasks performed by our packaging plant include:

  • Sorting
  • Weighing
  • Glazing of fish and shellfish
  • Packing
  • Labelling
  • Quality testing at our own laboratory
